How long have you been in business?
Scuba San Diego has been guiding snorkel and scuba divers in California Water since 1968. Our staff of Dive Masters and Instructors are all currently insured and qualified in CPR and First Aide. We originated guided diving and snorkeling the the La Jolla Cove Ecological Reserve. The oldest marine reserve in the western United States.
What is your primary product or service?
Scuba tours and Snorkel Tours into the Kelp forest and Sea Caves of the La Jolla Cove Ecological reserved. Kayak tours at night during the summer on Mission Bay under the Sea World fireworks. All of our tours are guided by instructors and dive masters. We also have one day introductory scuba dive classes.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a kid my brother and I were big fans of Sea Hunt a television series with Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson the hero. We were the first to attend a Scuba Diving certification course in 1965 when Aloha Sports center opened in the San Fernando Valley. I have been teaching and giving guided tours snorkeling and scuba diving all over the world since 1968. Over forty hotels in the San Diego area refer there guests to us for snorkeling, diving, and kayak tours and lessons and we have been associated with the Hilton San Diego resort on Mission Bay since 1988
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have never had a diving accident in our 47 years of leading guests into the underwater world and instructing in the realm of scuba diving and snorkeling. We are the first choice of hotel concierges in the San Diego County area for their guests safe enjoyment of our local waters.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Over 40 hotels refer guests to us for snorkel, dive, and kayak tours when visiting San Diego County
