How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
This field allows a level of personal service unlike any other. Contrary to general opinion, it is not boring and we don't speak to dead people! Rather, we are given a chance to meet and know wonderful families, at a terrible time in their life, and present solutions to their problems.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
There are no other businesses in San Diego county like ourselves. Casket Gallery - Cemetery Sales was the very 1st Casket Retailer in San Diego. Our website - www.CemeterySales.com was one of the very 1st Resale Cemetery Property listing services.
We are also the ONLY independent Funeral Consultant that has no interest, ownership or stake in a Cemetery or Funeral Home. All the others who present themselves as "independent" are really skewing everything to their favor. We sell products that the customer can make their own decision as to what works for their family, and they are not pushed into a funeral service, or blackmailed into one of the many "Sham Packages" offered by almost 90% of the funeral homes.
Funeral Homes today are operating with more deception than they ever did in the 1960's and 1970's when the Federal Trade Commission began the Funeral Rule. They are back to hiding, deceiving and pushing so called "discounts" that leave most customers confused. Funeral Homes love that because they are then in full control and can generally end of with a high price sale.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have two locations - one in San Diego, and the other in Los Angeles. Currently we serve the entire US through our Internet sites and we can ship to anywhere a full burial casket, cremation urns, and bronze and granite memorials. Our products are based in several places within the country, so shipping is simple to provide any product for any customer.
Our overhead is low, which keeps our prices some of the lowest available anywhere!

Our San Diego office is on 3121 Bonita Road which is the East side of the 805 where the West side becomes E street. Approximately 1/2 mile to the east from the I805 fwy, our shop is located on the north side next to Bonita Flowers. We are in front of the Equestrian Park.

Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Funeral Consultants is the owner of the business. Either Chris or Dave
run the daily operation.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday 10AM to 5PM, Saturday 11AM to 3PM, Sunday by appointment. We also take appointments for any day at any reasonable time. We also do home visits to present our services if requested by the family.
